Every year, the Zwarte Cross festival, featuring music, theater, motocross, and stunts, takes place in the Achterhoek region. As the largest paid festival in the Netherlands, Zwarte Cross is a pioneer in adopting innovative solutions.
Indicium B.V. has been asked to deliver a mobile solution for crew access control, coin sales registration, and bar supply management. The main requirements for this mobile solution are safety, solidity, and utmost reliability, allowing the organization to rely completely on their mobile equipment during the few days of the festival each year.
With hardware from Zebra Technologies, an industrial web browser from Ivanti, and the Enterprise Mobility Management tool from SOTI, Indicium B.V. provides a robust mobility solution. The rugged TC57x mobile computer from Zebra Technologies features a sturdy casing, making it ideal for use in harsh environments like a rough festival terrain.
To run the Zwarte Cross application on the device, Ivanti’s VelocityWEB is used. Thanks to Ivanti’s extensive security features, the Zwarte Cross web application can be accessed securely through the industrial VelocityWEB browser. The URL bar is hidden and Android buttons are blocked to display and secure the application in fullscreen mode, ensuring users only have access to the intended application and cannot accidentally close it. This creates a seamless and efficient user experience, essential for demanding environments like Zwarte Cross.
Finally, all mobile devices used during Zwarte Cross are managed via SOTI MobiControl. In case of any issues with a mobile device, Indicium B.V. can easily and quickly provide remote support thanks to this tool.
