In 2012, Verhoek Europe, a logistics service provider specialized in the transport of length goods, including the distribution of rolls of floor covering, entered into a partnership with both WICS and Indicium.
In 65 years, Verhoek Europe has become one of the leading logistics service providers, specialized in the logistics and transport of length goods such as rolls of floor covering. The last 8 years, WICS and Indicium have been involved as suppliers in the digitization and automation of the complex logistics processes that lie behind this. Verhoek is one of the many joint customers where WICS supplies the Warehouse Management System and Indicium supplies the RF scanners, (mobile) label printers and the wireless network.
At the end of 2012, Verhoek Europe entered into a partnership with WICS to digitize their logistics flows. This started with part of the goods flow in the main warehouse in Genemuiden. The other logistics processes were soon added and the WMS system was rolled out further over the other warehouses at home and abroad.
Parallel to the implementation of the WMS system, Indicium rolled out a wireless network of Extreme Networks in all warehouses, thus laying the basis for the barcode system. Indicium subsequently supplied the mobile label printers and RF scanners and Verhoek Europe started labeling and scanning all goods.
In the past 8 years, technology has not stood still and Android has made great strides. Verhoek Europe is now using new Zebra equipment with this modern operating system, supplied by Indicium.
As a result of the collaboration between Verhoek, WICS and Indicium, each product is identified and traceable from the first receipt in one of Verhoek’s warehouses.
